We're So Far Away

Remembering, everything,
about my world and when you came.
Wondering, the change you’d bring,
means nothing else would be the same.
Did you know, what you were doing, did you know.
Did you know how you would move me well,
I don’t really think so.
but the night came down and swept us away.
and the stars they seemed,
to paint the most elaborate scene today.

How could we know? that song, this show,
we'd learn so much about ourselves.
From Toledo, to Tokyo,
the words were scribed on every page,
and now there’s books up on our shelves.
Did you know how you would move us, did you know?
When the lights first came upon us,
and we saw The Everglow.
and the moment's magic swept us away.
and the young mans dream was almost seen so plain.

When was the night
that showed us the sign?
Revealed in the sky, to leave all behind.
But where to begin? throwing caution to the wind,
We reached for the stars, everything was now ours.

Did you know how you would move me, did you know?
Did you know how you would move me?
well, I don’t even think so.
but the moment's magic swept us away.
and it’s so close, but we’re so far away.
It’s so close, but we’re so far away.

Our free Polaroid

Ran the Nike+ Human Race with Chun Fu, Jason, and Wei Jun. Was aching from the NAPFA I took the day before, now, I'm aching even more. We got a finisher band at the end of the run, and I took one extra (shhhhh).

Went home to sleep away the aches, then met Howard and Lun Tat in the evening. Howard booked out for the first time I think, so congrats to him for having survived 2 weeks of Navy BMT.

Today is the day I got my hair cornrowed.
THANKS KEZIA!

The cornrows were totally awesome

Some of the braids came loose though, and I removed it by the end of the day.

Took NAPFA today along with most of the MOI seniors. Came to the realisation of how unfit we all actually are. I blame SIP. Haha!
But seriously, I have to start training again. Was not happy with my NAPFA results at all, though I already made it for the 2 months exemption from NS.

Did some consultations today with various lecturers. Reminds me again of how much I miss being in school.

Gina the Rockstar, Germaine doesn't want her picture taken.

Anyway, went back to church for practice after 3 long months!! Practice was awesome, it's been so long since I've played with Lun Tat, just drum and bass.

Macho Lun Tat. Check out those biceps.

Swapped my 85mm prime for Wei Jun's 50mm. Slacked a bit in the TV studio, then went down to Suntec City to buy my stop motion model.

I actually went to school at 9 today. Turns out CDS doesn't start till Thursday. Ended up sitting alone in the 3D lab reading off various tutorial websites.

Alan with 3D glasses from Autodesk

Had consultation with Alan till late (well, 7 plus actually). I'm really excited to start on the stop motion proof of concepts, I'm pretty confident that it's doable.

Trash and Recycle

First day of FYP. I'll be creating a production diary kind of blog soon, will post the link here so those that actually bother to view this blog can have a look.

Greg sporting a polo shirt with a tie.

Watched "500 Days of Summer" with Jake and the other video students. Good show, if you're reading this, you should watch it.

After dinner with SerSq

Went to collect Nike+ Human Race entry packs with Jason, Chun Fu, and Wei Jun today. There was a free Nike water bottle inside. Not bad, we actually went to check, and the retail price is $15.90. Which made the pack really worth our money since we paid only $21.40 to register for the race, not forgetting that we're getting a Nike event tee on top of the water bottle.

Photos direct from FAIL blog.

Was playing around with the new Fail blog app that I downloaded. Instant "FAIL"s, better than Polaroids.

Monks need to eat too.

Pictures of the Human Race tees will be posted next week.

Today is the last day of SIP!
Got a treat from the boss at lunch time, and after lunch, we finally got our $50 that we were promised!

I like this picture, candid Andrea.

Went for "Whine and Dine 3" after work and had my birthday celebrated yet again. Thank you MOI people!

Today was a great day! Woke up feeling great, was early for work, and I didn't have to rush. Took a short train ride down to Farrer Park.

Some random plot of land along Rangoon Road.

Reported at CineGear, where we made some equipment rentals and then we headed over to shoot at eMediSpa which is located at One Raffles Link.

Took on the role as unofficial gaffer.

The people there were really friendly. This was the last shoot Kevin and I were going to be involved in while on internship, though it wasn't really fun in particular, and we had to work a little over time, I felt really good about the day. I guess it's cause tomorrow marks the end of SIP! Finally, after 3 long long months of working our asses off.

Okay for the next photo,
VIEWER'S DISCRETION IS ADVISED!

Poor rat.

Was lucky/unlucky enough to come across this rare sight in the morning. Only managed to snap a few pictures before the crow flew away. Fierce stuff.

ANYWAY...
Ladies and Gentlemen, drum roll please!

HAPPY 19th BIRTHDAY
LUN TAT!

Beautiful sky today

Was supposed to meet Andrea Lim, Yuan and Joel for dinner, but stupid clients just had to make my life difficult by giving excessive amounts of stupid changes and take their own sweet time in giving feedback. Which in turn meant that the nice people that were planning to surprise me with birthday gifts were kept waiting for a good 3 hours. How embarrassing.

That aside, Andrea and Yuan brought me to Frolick in Serangoon Gardens and I was given a birthday present by the fabulous Frolick girls at the counter. Wow, totally awesome!

@ Frolick

I think my presents were really great.

First I got Batman books from Joel.
What makes them great? The fact that they're children's colouring books. I thought it was really smart. Nice one Joel.

Next, I got a hand-coloured light box thing with my picture stuck on it from Andrea and Yuan. What makes it great? The fact that it's supposed to be a light box thing, but it doesn't come with a light bulb. According to Andrea and Yuan, I get my light bulb at a later date. Present in installments, double the excitement.

My awesome presents

Today was pretty cool, despite the fact that I was still sick and they still made me work like hell in the office. Met "Papa" (my babysitter's husband) on the way to work, we took the same bus and had a nice chat all the way to Toa Payoh. Note to self, improve spoken chinese one of these days.

At lunch, Andrea Lek came over to 1003 Technopreneur Centre and brought me this cake.

My Birthday cake

Yvonne gave me two chocolate bars, one labeled "happy" and the other, "birthday". Had an agonizing lunch with Andrea, Kevin, Shuxian and Yvonne, all thanks to diarrhea. Sorry for not being able to eat any of your presents/cake.

Went to shoot at Vivo City today. There was this ship docked at the harbour, the Duolos, apparently it's a floating bookstore that only comes every few years? I don't know how long, but not often.

Met Lun Tat after dinner and we went to mess around with the flashes. Lun Tat started "sniping" random females using Ryan's 70-200mm.

Want to fight ah? Want to fight ah?

Nothing special, today was rather boring as usual. Went for dinner with my Mum and Dad after work today.

Kind of makes you feel like a kid all over again.

5 more working days. Last week, last week!!

8 Oct 09

After having taken 147 to work everyday since I started my SIP, I finally tried taking 153 today. I made my way to the post office first thing this morning, to collect my long distant birthday present. I boarded 153 from opposite the post office with the intention of changing to 147 at Serangoon, but for some reason, I was compelled to stay on the bus and see how long the journey took.

Turns out 153 only takes less than an hour to reach my work place whereas 147 takes 1 hour 20 mins? gothere.sg lied!! The only reason I kept taking 147 to work was because gothere.sg said it was a couple of minutes faster than 153.

Oh well, today actually turned out pretty well if not for what happened at night. Feeling quite pissed, some people really have trust issues.

My Birthday present from my dear brother.

Thanks for the present! Was expecting an iPhone though.. Just kidding! (:

Know how I was contemplating whether or not I should open it on my birthday or not? I kind of didn't need to the moment I saw the package it came in. I mean, it clearly stated "Road ID". For those of you who don't know what it is, it's an ID tag that you can wear when you go out for activities like runs or what not, all you emergency contact information is displayed on the wrist band so you can enjoy your run with a peace of mind.

6 more working days. I'm going to spend the whole of tomorrow making 100 dvd copies.

7 Oct 09

Today I finally woke up early enough to leave house the same time Mum does. Work was boring as usual, but I'm glad I finished the draft TVC I was assigned to do.

I received an early birthday present from my brother in the mail, when I got home. Well, not exactly. It's actually a "Delivery Advice" slip, the actual present is in the Post Office, which I'll be going to tomorrow to collect my present.
Now the question is, "do I open my present tomorrow, or wait for my actual birthday?"

7 more working days!
